Did you know that most people who try internet marketing spend most of their time jumping from one thing to another? They go to the forums and hear about the latest product launch. It sounds great! People are using the latest method and the money is rolling in a couple of weeks later. So even though they already have time and money invested in whatever they are doing, they jump ship and buy this latest guru wonder course.
They read all the instructions and start doing something entirely different. A couple of weeks later, they discover that they aren’t making any money. They go back to the forum and find out that everyone is talking about this other great course guaranteed to solve all their problems. So they pop out their credit card and jump on the latest bandwagon.
I’ve seen it happen over and over again during my 10 years online. Sometimes I just shake my head when I see the same people spinning their wheels as they jump from one thing to another and never stick to anything.
What is really sad is that if they had just completed any one of the projects they started to completion, they might be making some money. They might not be earning a fortune, but they’ve done something much more important: they’ve learned how to make money using one method.
If they repeat that method over and over again, it is pretty likely that they will eventually build themselves a pretty good income. On top of that, their method will get easier and easier to do. Each project will take less time. They may even find ways to automate their strategy so they can repeat it dozens of times.
But that never happens if you jump from one thing to another. Affiliate marketing success requires extreme focus on one strategy, one niche, one idea at a time. Without that focus, you will never succeed in this business.
Before you jump on the next latest and greatest thing, first finish what you are working on and give it a chance to succeed. That will take you far less time than getting up-to-speed on something totally different.
Second, don’t buy any new products that don’t enhance the strategy that you are currently following. If a new strategy is totally different, don’t buy it. It will always be there a few months down the road when you have some success under your belt! By that time, you may even realize that the hype has died down and no one is even talking about it anymore.
